But the real magic is in the way the whole day is just one long sweet rhythm – you swap coastal winds and swap them for the twisted limbs of some of the Territory’s paperbark swamps, billabongs with crocodiles, and the kind of rainforest that’ll drown out your thoughts.
I’ve run this bit of country over and over with all sorts of guests, and without fail the same truth always comes home – carry essentials, start early, and above all don’t get too relaxed about how fast the temperature can swing out here.
