Due to exhaustion, Danni Wyatt will forego the upcoming WBBL season.
Sunday, October 01 2023 - 01:20
The aggressive England batswoman Danni Wyatt has chosen to withdraw from the upcoming Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), claiming exhaustion. Wyatt was slated to play for the Perth Scorchers Women after being selected as a first-round choice by the group earlier this month. Sophie Devine, the captain of New Zealand, was kept at platinum. Wyatt missed the most recent ODI series England played at home against Sri Lanka.

The Scorchers chose Amy Jones as their third international player through a direct nomination process. However, they will now need to find Danni Wyatt replacement. After selecting the 32-year-old during the draft, head coach Becky Grundy was quite happy and believed that the club would benefit from her versatility in the field. She will, however, need to make new arrangements now that Danni Wyatt is unavailable.

In the meanwhile, Brisbane Heat has hired English leg spinner Sarah Glenn to fill in for New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr, who will miss the first several WBBL games. Although Kerr’s absence from the first few matches was anticipated, Brisbane had no qualms about selecting her as their platinum pick.
After the second washout, England wins the series 1-0.

England hitters Ben Duckett and Phil Salt put on an incredible display of power hitting in Bristol, driving the ball to every corner of the County Ground before the rain came and ended the game. In the three-match series, England’s 48-run victory over Ireland in the second ODI was sufficient for a 1-0 series victory despite their being two no-result games.

The first over of the game, bowled by Mark Adair, saw Salt hit three boundaries and a six, the highest opening over by England ever. England scored 84 in six overs as the slaughter continued, with Salt reaching his half-century in just 22 balls. His fast-paced 61-run opening stand off only 28 balls came to an end in the seventh over, along with the fast-paced 87-run opening stand. A few overs later, Salt’s opening partner Will Jacks followed him to the pavilion, giving Ireland some temporary reprieve.

Duckett looked in fantastic form as he approached the crease and hit a 72-ball century, improving his prospects of playing for a fully-fit England ODI team in the future. Duckett, who hit 12 fours and two sixes, needed just 26 balls to go from 50 to 100 before hitting his maiden white-ball international century with a huge six over long-off.
When New Zealand plays England in the opening ODI World Cup 2023 match in Ahmedabad, there will be plenty of memories made.

Everyone will remember the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 Final differently, whether they were one of the fortunate fans inside Lord’s or one of the millions watching on screens around the world.

It was a game that had it all, from Trent Boult unintentionally standing on the boundary rope to Ben Stokes sliding in to redirect a throw for the luckiest of overthrows to the debut of the first-ever ODI Super Over on the biggest platforms.

With Martin Guptill out of bounds, Jos Buttler whipped off the bails, giving England the victory on a boundary countback after the regular match and Super Over were matched. The mythical home of cricket has rarely heard such a cacophony of uproar.

It was the culmination of England’s incredible journey led by Eoin Morgan, who set out to win the World Cup at home and succeeded, as famously said by commentator Ian Smith, by the thinnest of margins.
